Assistant Professor of Communication Science
The department of Communication Science of the University of Twente has a mission to empower humans and organizations in our high-tech digital society by exploring how they interact and adapt to their environment amidst current technological innovations and societal transitions. Against this background, we are currently looking for an Assistant Professor Digital Marketing to strengthen our team in these activities. More specifically, we look for a candidate who studies and teaches current and emerging tech developments, such as the use of AI and algorithms in personalized communication or non-profit aspects of digital marketing.
You will be teaching in our top ranked bachelor’s and master’s programmes of Communication Science. For instance, in the bachelor’s programme you will contribute to modules in the ‘persuasive tech’ track; in the master’s programme you will teach a course closely related to your research expertise for example in our master’s double degree program Digital Marketing (COM and BA) that is designed to make students understand the most innovative technologies and acquire the skills to manage the upcoming technological disruptions in marketing. We encourage you to develop a productive and viable research line and play an active role in the acquisition of research funding.
You will assess the importance, impact, and pervasiveness of tech developments in today’s society and, on a more applied level, explore the opportunities granted by these developments for the future marketer. You know the background and impact of data-driven digital marketing and possess the skills to develop strategies in a world overflowing with data on customers, brands, products, services, and their interactions.
