We offer a position for a technician within the Robotics and Mechatronics (RaM) group of the University of Twente! In the RaM group we research medical robotics, aerial robotics, tele-robotics, inspection and maintenance robotics, social robotics, and more. We have a fantastic 350+ m2 lab with dozens of tailor made robotics solutions. In addition, we have a new rapid prototyping lab with 17 3D printers, laser cutter, PCB production facilities, etc.
RaM consists of approximately 50 people including professors, postdocs, (post)graduate students, technical and secretarial support. Furthermore, we have several shared facilities including a very modern and fully equipped operating room and outdoor testing facilities.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
The team of technicians at RaM support research and education activities in various ways. Firstly, they maintain essential infrastructure such as labs, software, and rapid prototyping equipment. Secondly, they support the mechanical design and realization of experimental setups - including production of 3D printed and laser cut parts. Thirdly, they support practical teaching activities.
In this position you will be a full member of the team of technicians. Your responsibilities include:
- Management of the labs in coordination with lab users
- Maintenance and production using the rapid prototyping facilities
- Support with PCB design
- Supporting with development of phantoms for experiments
- Support in rapid prototyping, including 3D design for 3D printing
- Technical support for experimental setups in the labs
- Support of demonstrations in and visits to the lab
- Support of procurement for the lab
