Assistant Professor in Asset Management & Maintenance Engineering
In realising the university’s motivation to contribute to society, asset management and maintenance engineering play important roles as they link engineering research and education to the areas of life cycle management of products and capital assets. As assistant professor, you will strengthen the chair’s research profile by focussing on new relevant theories, methodologies and tools. You will work on the intersection of asset management and maintenance engineering.
Job Description
The department is looking for a promising and passionate assistant professor who will be working on research and education related to technology, design, production and life cycle management of capital assets.
As an assistant professor, you seek to support our research programme which bridges several parts of the Department of Design, Production & Management: covering the whole product life cycle from Ideation & Concept Development to Design & Engineering, Manufacturing, Implementation, Operations and Maintenance to end-of-life. Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to knowledge transfer in the broad field of maintenance engineering and life cycle management.
You are playing a key role in strengthening collaboration between the chair and other research units at the university as well as with established industries. This role involves sharing knowledge at the intersection of industry and science, including lifelong learning masterclasses.
Furthermore, you will be involved in existing undergraduate and graduate courses as well as the development of new courses, and will aid in the supervision of doctoral, master, and bachelor students. These activities will mostly take place at the University of Twente, but on occasion also at other knowledge institutions. Educational contributions are expected in the field of design methodologies and introduction strategies of capital assets, risk analysis, usability, monitoring, and advanced technologies in maintenance execution.
