As a Lecturer in the Communication Science section, you will join a cohesive and collaborative team within the BMS faculty that is strongly committed to innovative and high-quality education. You will be a member of the Communication Science teaching staff and contribute to both our Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes through lectures, tutorials, project-based education, and the supervision of theses. In this role, you will actively support students in their academic and professional development and contribute to the ongoing innovation of our educational programmes. The lecturer will teach core communication science theories as well as academic, professional, and design-oriented skills within the BSc Communication Science modules. This includes teaching and supervising students in project-based courses, providing education in theories of corporate and human-technology interactions, and guiding students in the development of academic and professional skills such as academic writing, presenting, visualisation and design, and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. You will also be involved in supervising and assessing project assignments. In addition, the lecturer will supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects, supporting students throughout their research process and helping them to translate theoretical insights into well-founded academic work. with colleagues to further develop and implement innovative teaching materials and learning activities that align with the evolving field of Communication Science

Your profile

The ideal candidate has a strong affinity with communication science in human, organisational, and technology-mediated contexts, and is actively engaged with developments in the field. You possess solid knowledge of communication science methodologies and are able to combine theoretical insight with practical and design-oriented skills. Your strong teaching abilities are evident from experience in educational settings, where you have successfully engaged and guided students. We are looking for a collaborative and enthusiastic team player who enjoys shaping education and who is able to inspire students through interactive, creative, and inclusive teaching approaches. You are comfortable working in an international academic environment and have a strong command of the English language, enabling you to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and staff. Our offer

We encourage high responsibility and independence, while collaborating with colleagues, researchers, other university staff and partners. We follow the terms of employment by the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Universities (CAO). Our offer contains a 0.8 position for 8 months. Starting date will be 01-03-2026 untill 31-12-2026;

Your starting salary will be € 3.378,- gross per month (scale 10);

An end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and a holiday allowance of 8%;

A minimum of 29 holiday days per year (full-time basis) and an attractive pension scheme;

A family-friendly institution with excellent work-life balance support and free use of sports facilities;

Employment conditions according to the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Universities (CAO)
