PhD position in Digital Resilience in Supply Chains
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive, and curious PhD candidate to work on the Digital Resilience in Supply Chains (DReSC) project. In this project, you will recommend measures aimed at achieving proactive mitigation of cyber risks within supply chains. You will develop decision-making models that consider technical, behavioural and economic factors to design and select efficient interventions. The successful applicant will join the Industrial Engineering & Business Information Systems (IEBIS) section of the High-tech Business & Entrepreneurship (HBE) department at the Faculty of Behavioural Management and Social Sciences.
In the DReSC project, you will need an interdisciplinary approach, combining psychology, economics, and operations research. Skills in game theory, agent-based simulation, or behavioural experiments are desirable. We seek a candidate skilled in at least one of these fields and with a keen interest in the others.
You will work as part of the Digital Resilience in Supply Chains (DReSC) project, which is an interdisciplinary initiative jointly funded by TKI Health~Holland and TKI DINALOG under dcypher's CS4NL program. The project is a collaboration between the University of Twente, the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS), and various public-private stakeholders from health care and logistics.
We are seeking a PhD candidate who can work full-time for 4 years and will contribute to the goals and deliverables of DReSC.
Your work will provide inputs to security managers to decide on efficient interventions for making supply chains secure. Techniques from economics and operations research, such as game-theoretical analysis and agent-based simulation, can be used to evaluate cybersecurity strategies and identify efficient interventions, acknowledging the autonomy of diverse supply chain parties. You will also develop guidelines for behavioral interventions that are most efficient in a supply chain setting.
Can you help us make digital supply chains more secure? If you like working with companies and at the same time enjoy data modeling then you are the candidate for this position!
